Le Clos des Brusquières

Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Rhône Valley

A most sought-after and yet under the radar domaine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos des Brusquières is handle by the Courtil Thibault family since 1969 when Claude Courtil, trained by Henri Bonneau, set up his own domaine nearby the Château.

Claude’s great grandfather was already producing grapes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1900, and until 1996 it was mostly sold to negoce.

Located in the Northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape village, the vineyard is composed of the 13 grapes varieties that give all the magic to the blends of this appellation.

With an average age of 50 years, all the focus of the domaine is towards  the 10 hectares of old vines of the Clos des Brusquières to make a unique style of expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Since 2015, the two sons of Claude, David and Jérome, are now carrying the family legacy.

Le Clos des Brusquières Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The name Brusquières comes from the parcel located on the top of Châteauneuf-du-Pape hills with a rich soil that gives all the complexity expected. Usually with a majority of Grenache (that reminds us of Bonneau’s style!), aged in concrete vats to retain the fruit's purity.
