Maison Clusel Roch

Ampuis - Rhône Valley

An iconic domaine run by the Clusel family for four generations on the slopes of Côte Rotie in the Rhône Valley and on the hills of Coteaux du Lyonnais. The first parcels of Syrah were planted in 1935 by Baptiste Clusel.

With only 20 hectares of vines (17 hectares in red and 2 hectares in white), entirely organically farmed since the end of the 1990s. It’s a family business of passionate winegrowers and winemakers, peticulars on the details with “home-made” vine grafting, massales selections, and manual labor of very steep slopes of very old vines of Serines - the traditional version of the Syrah in Ampuis.

Today, Guillaume Clusel has taken over the reins of the domaine alongside his parents, keeping on the traditional way of working in the vines and in the cellar, however bringing his younger modern aspirations for the future of the Maison.
